Having major problems replacing b1 s2 on a 2004 v8 Touareg. I have seen a lot of posts and pictures for the v6 but what I’m looking at isn’t close to those pics. I have taken the air filter housing and tube off.
Problem is the sensor is sitting at 3 o'clock. With the crows foot or a socket there’s no way to hook a ratchet or extension to it because the exhaust pipe blocks access no matter which way I position it. The wire end of the sensor is against the heat shield and the heat shield is less than a 1/4 inch from the driveshaft going to the transfer case.
The double universal I made couldn’t take the torque and broke.
Are all the post cat sensors at this angle? It would be doable any where from straight up (1200) going left to straight down (600).
Really need ideas. The Touareg has to pass inspection and get on the road. Costing way too much sitting in the driveway.
