Does anyone have the instructions for the map update they can post or share? I have the nav SD card and the activation SD, but no instructions. This is for a US 2015 with the RNS850.

Keep in mind the map update can take an hour or more so keep a stable external voltage supply for the battery so it doesn't go low and cause an interruption of the update and possibly brick your RNS850. You could also keep the vehicle running the whole time but with todays fuel prices you might not want to.
Also The latest update for North America is already outdated by a few years.

Do not touch anything in the "Green Screen" unless you absolutely know what you're doing. At the very least write any original settings down before doing anything, hopefully if it doesn't get bricked you can switch them back.
As far as fault codes, you're going to have them and not be able to get rid of them because things were updated by yourself and not hooked up to the VW Mothership. If all works good just ignore the fault codes.

Just did this update on my 2016 Executive. Worked great - just followed the instructions. Took less than an hour for me...don't know if the newer models have faster SD readers or my card was faster. Either way I'm happy. My firmware was P0737.
Glad your update went well.
Did you do just the firmware or NAV update as well? Firmware updating usually takes a lot less time.
