Been reading on this forum for a few weeks, ever since I was set on getting a touareg. Guess what? I have my first Touareg, offroad great V8, everything on it but the 4C controls. It's the most amazing thing I've ever driven.

BMW, LEXUS, and all the other guys have nothing on the touareg.

welcome - but the reviews forum is for broken-in touaregs... post there once you get several thousand miles on the odometer =)

it's going! haha breaking in the touareg is tough...you want to step on it so bad. hah..i was breaking it in this weekend...at 300 miles today and after the first 50 gas tank fill i'm thinking of applying for a Gas card. HOT DOG! :shock: gas is expensive! How do you guys do it? What is your average gas mileage? I have a 40 minute commute to work, this will hurt in the long run? Any tips? I'll try to get some pics up tonight. For you fine germs.

Your mileage will increase with the break-in of the engine. I have 9k on mine and i am still seeing my overall mileage improve. Started around 15 overall and i am up to 19.5 overall. As for your 40 mile commute, your mileage will depend on stop and go or highway mileage.

The only thing that didn't come in it was the 4 Climate control...I'm very happy with the buy, and will be happier when i can take the car past 55mph! =)

Don't baby it. Rev it up a bit. 55 mph is way too slow to break it in right.

Spock, how hard is it really to hook up the ipod to this? The dealer is kinda acting like this is the first time anyone has asked about hooking up an ipod. I'm not very good with taking things apart and stuff like that...I've been to your site a bunch of times...but without a step by step instruction, with diagrams n things i won't be able to do anything....any tips?

Not very hard especially using the AV plug type rather than the AO but you are welcome to come up to CT for an installation.

where is CT are you? i'm about 15 minutes from CT, and how much would you charge? Would you install the kind that comes through the center of the cup holders?

Break-in Speed

Dealer told me keep it under 110 mph and do not use crusie control
(vary the revs) until 2000 miles.

Anybody get different advice?

I'm in central CT. I charge $50/hr. I can install the cupholder style. Just need some advance notice and to set up a time to get together.
