I thought the T1/T2 were mechanically pretty much the same. Headlights, taillights, rear "spoiler" over the rear window were changed on the T2. And on the T2 they changed quite a bit of the wiring/electronics/ABS system.

I don't know much about the T3 other than it no longer has the low range 4Motion.

For off road I'd say the T1/T2 with the low range, adjustable air suspension option and the rear locker option is the best (over the T3). (4XMotion vs 4Motion)
