The US-market Pirelli Scorpion Verde All-Season Plus is essentially just a harder compound than the EU-market Pirelli Scorpion Verde All-Season - to give reduced wear but at a slight expense of grip.

Many of the big brands do the same but don't give the US version a different name.

As if utmost grip is of some sort of requirement.
It is if you're trying to avoid an impending accident - that's the difference between tyres that last 60-100,000 miles with less ultimate grip than those that will only last 20-30,000 miles.

Whether you're braking or swerving to avoid an accident, that's the point when you DO want utmost grip.
