I'm keen to purchase my very first Touareg. I've always been fond of the R50 as I also have a 06 R32.
What should I be looking in terms of potentially costing me $$$$&?

Engine out for lots of things. Not the sort of thing you own if worried about cost or possible work involved.

Touaregs are wonderful and maintenance is expensive. Yet proper maintenance will decrease the very expensive repairs.
Do you plan for a Touareg for daily driving? Adventuring? Towing? Off-roading? Or a combination?
As mentioned by others (above posts) please read up on what to watch for when buying a Touareg.
Please do post some photos of your Touareg once acquired as well.
