What's the odo say and what did you pay? I was searching for that exact vehicle 2 years ago when I got mine, but I couldn't find any Rs worth buying.... they were all butchered.

20k$. I add the mats (320$), tune (900$ish), mudgards, start button and few bits and pieces. BUT (and it is a big butt), it has 202k km. Not warranty... I typically drive 10k km per years, as I uses my bicycle April-November to commute to work; so the high mileage didn't bother me. Most importantly, the car is absolutely flawless. No stonechips on hood or bumpers, no wear on the leather, ....

I read (across) the thread where you debate about material properties and turbo map/lag; no debate there. 97.26% sure you have some kind of mechanical engineering background.
I know I would need a new turbo + downpipe (+ delete all emission stuff) and tune to increase the power even more, not sure about DSG flash (do they even exist for Touareg?) or other hardware required. This will eventually leads to engine refresh as well I guess.

Busted....... but, you don't have a DSG.
The OC8 will handle all kinds of power, so no need to worry about that.
Fueling is the single biggest issue when it comes to trying to extract power, specifically, the injectors, which are a limiting factor. Opinions vary, and all sorts of people speculate that chips\water-to-air ICs\unobtanium turbo guts\deletes will get you to approach the 400 mark, but I stick to my BS flag waiving until someone does it. (and before anyone starts dropping Bobby's name, I'm talking about Touareg not some other variant of the 3L TDI with stick transmission or other similar setup)

Just under 20k$ with all recent maintenance done (fresh wax, extra 2in winter tire, brakes all 4 corners, new windshield, new fogs, ...). I add the mats (320$), tune (900$ish), mudgards, start button and few bits and pieces. BUT (and it is a big butt), it has 202k km. Not warranty...
Solid deal..... when was it fixed?

Injectors and injection pump aren't limiting factors until 450hp.

The Aisin TR-80SD is limited, per the manufacturer, to 630 ft/lbs of torque which will be very easy to surpass with a hybrid turbo. There are a couple people running hybrid turbos on these without any issues. A good tuner can also tune in torque limiting in the first few gears or at lower RPM at least which should also help save the transmission. knock on wood but you never hear of these transmissions being blown out.

Here we go again.
Please justify the above with something. Show me the Bosch specs for the injectors for example. I distinctly recall them actually listing how much hp output the injector can support, but maybe they got it wrong.

Onto your hybrid BS turbo... when will this unicorn spool in order to have flow capacity to "easily surpass" the OC8 limits? Or are we talking about the o-so-desirable high output setup which will have a powerband from 3k+ rpm?

I don't understand the question. Emission fix? No idea.

As for power, again this is a dream goal. I am definitely not ready to compromise/trade low-end city driving fun for higher end highway pulls; and I like to keep turbo lag to a minimum. This is not a race car! Spending a 4-5k$ on turbo/injector/tune just 50-60hp doesn't seems like a good return on investment to me. I figured the turbo would be close to 2k, 1k for downpipe + SCR delete (buzzken), 1k for tune. If all that only results in 50hp hop and increased turbo lag; I would consider this a money NOT well spend!

I am not unsatisfied with the car performance, but I would definitely enjoy a bit more. And power is always addictive, there is never quite enough. The Touareg is such a heavy plateform; I figured at least 100hp would make it perfect and justify (a bit more) the expense. If my turbo is in need of rebuild eventually, that will be a good opportunity.

You can also call any dealer and get them to run your VIN... they will give you the date & milage of when it was done.

Nope....

Extended Emissions Warranty Coverage Warranty Period
The warranty period for the “Extended Emissions Warranty” is the greater of:
 10 years or 193,000 km, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s original in- service date;
OR
 4 years or 77,000 km, whichever occurs first, from the date and mileage of the completion of the emissions repair.

I don't understand why you would assume, when it's only a phone call to find out, and it can result in many things being covered IF need be. Are you aware of all the coverages which you are assuming you're out of?

Theoretically, I guess it doesn't matter since you've already "chipped" it, so all is now void.

The car hasn't been used a lot since March (COVID) and ran 202k km in 6ish years. Assuming 33k per year, fix done in Sept 2018... must be pretty close.

I don't see the rush of checking now. If anything bad happens, I'll check if I am covered before doing any repair. If I am covered great, if I am not... well I'll have to pay! It doesn't change anything. I don't know if VW systematically check for ECM tune either. Even if I reverse to OEM tune (flashzilla) they will see it has change and might void warranty if there is anything left.

quite a lot is covered. I wish I would have read this "or" before the tune, maybe I would have wait a bit. I assumed 193k was the upper limit regardless. Too late now.

Depends on your dealer.... I would suggest that if you do need to attempt to take advantage of the extended warranty, you do re-flash back to OEM and cross your fingers. Very few dealers (and people in general these days) actually know what they are doing or dig into things. If someone who knows investigates, they will see the number of re-flashes on the ECU, but there's a good chance that no one would check unless they were given a reason to.

Got my auto-hold button, so pulled the center console for the second time this week LOL. The handbrake button retaining mechanism puzzled me; so I disconnected all connectors and remove the center console to be able to see properly what I was doing. I dropped one of the start button clip; chased it with a flat head screwdriver for a while and couldn't get it. Searched garbage bag to find the old switch (found it), and when I flipped the center console I found the missing clip. Ah well...

Still haven't received my cable, so I ordered a new one that I should get tomorrow and activate that feature. Button was 30Euro + 30 Euro shipping + 24$ surprise tax. All and all around 120$ for the switch. I really really like the machined surface in the interior (not wood). With the brown seats, black dash; the feel and finish is perfect for my taste.

Irrelevant as he's got a 240 baseline and @TheChunknorris has dynoed his "similar' spec model with less than "claimed" results from what I recall..... which is why I'm asking if getting another dyno "validation" is possible.
Added the Dyno sheet if there was a question about the Malone numbers and a pic of my car because everyone loves pics.

Wrong chart bud.. that looks like your baseline before the tune. Did you ever investigate why your results were not as advertised?
