New Engine?

A dealer told me part of the reason the base price went up on the V8 was due to a modified engine that was being installed in the new touaregs. I've heard this from a friend too, but I have yet to see any evidence that this is the case. Anyone have information on whether or not this is true, and if so, what the difference in the engine is?

But I see that as the natural progression and is what keeps cars from becomming cheaper each successive model year. So perhaps the suggestion of the weakening dollar is more reasonable. (?)

I thought that the increased power and improved fuel efficiency was due to FSI.
