I live in Lake County, California. The registration renewal notice on 2004 V-8 just came in and it says I can't renew over the internet because of a "Manufacturer Recall #P1" and "Proof of Correction Certificate Required. Contact your local dealership for free repair. Problems call ARB 1-800-242-4450."

That number gets answered by the California Environmental Protection Agency's Air Resources Board.

I bought my Touraeg used almost 5 years ago and have never seen this before. Anyone else in CA come across this? Any idea what the recall is for?

search google for the VW VIN Recall check. Then plug in your VIN and see whats new. Or you could stop by the VW dealership for a check and print out (Proof).
