On my 2008 V8 T2 the scuff plates are coming off.
The dealership wanted for a set (front and rear) $75, the cheapest I could find on 1stVWparts.com is $72 per side +S&H.

The four parts numbers are for left front and rear and right front and rear for a total of $144.
Any cheaper way to get them fixed? Would getting the clips solve it?
They are loose and shift around as the clips are broken.
Any cheaper website to get them?
Thanks.

my clips began to break causing the 'plates' to come away any time my foot brushed past them.

I scored new clips from the dealership but they only stayed in place for so long.

In the end I retained the scuff plates with a hot glue gun. Haven't moved since.

I had asked the dealership if I could I replace the clips and their answer was: no, you have to replace the whole scuff plate.
I looked at them and it looks like that just getting all new clips may do the trick.
I just ordered 16 clips (5 for the front and 3 for the rear ones).
If that doesn't work, then I will also use the glue technique.

Update:
I bought 16 clips for a total of about $40 (shipping included) and used some left-over caulk to have them stick.
Total expenses: $43. Time to order and put them on: 30 minutes.
Two dealerships had asked for $540 for doing the same job.
Not believing your dealerships: priceless!
