Hi All,
Can anyone tell me what are these parts on the pictures ?

1. Part 1: this hose is broken and has a crack, and sucks some air ( you can hear it with hood open ), so I will need to replace it. What is this part and where can I get it ?
2. Part 2: this one is ok, but makes strange noise when I shot off the engine off.

If some one can help identify these pieces, would be very helpful.

You'll have to order them from your local VW dealership, er stealership. Price of parts will make your wallet bleed.

Part 2 appears to be your throttle body. The arrow appears to be pointing at the solenoid that controls the butterfly valve. These can be bought for around 300 dollars if you're willing to risk non-OEM, but if the car drives fine I wouldn't be too concerned about a weird noise. Try taking the intake off and spraying some throttle body cleaner up in there, it could just not be fully seating closed due to gunk buildup. The other part appears to be your breather. Just duct tape it where it's hissing. The minor vacuum leak could also be causing the weirdness with your throttle body. Hope this helps.

Hey Vlad I'm having the same problem. What did you end up doing w/ this? Idle is good, MPG normal, everything is running as normal, but that darn hissing noise.

I've noticed some hissing under the hood and realized that it is coming from the CRANKCASE VENTILATION PIPE. Am I to understand on the 07 3.6 v6 this part takes the place of the PCV valve. I've scanned through engine diagrams and none that I have observed display a PCV valve. 3.2 VW v6 engines display PCV w/ traditional tube projecting from a saucer. Mine just looks like this: 07 2007 Volkswagen Touareg Breather Hose - Air Intake - Genuine - PartsGeek Idle is good, MPG normal, everything is running as normal, but that darn hissing noise. Reply much appreciated.

Hi there, my problem was a crack in the breather hose, which has caused check engine light due to some suction of air. I just got a good quality cloth tape, and taped around the hose a much as I could, and put a few rounds of duct tape on top.
Worked like a charm

Hey Vlad thanks for the reply. Mine is not cracked it is actually sucking air in the way that it should. It just sounds like a very quiet jet engine. I do not recall that sound in the past. No check engine lights, fuel economy is good. However when I squeeze the crankcase pipe that goes into the black box with my index finger & thumb to form an air tight seal around the hose, it prevents fresh air from being recirculated into the engine and the engine begins to run rough but when I let it go it runs normal. When I turn off my TReg, I can hear the vacuum cease when the good is open. Don't know that I ever heard that before.

Don't know what it might be. I would say wait until until it breaks and then you will find out what it was
I was about to start another thread. I have an issue with exhaust flex pipes... did you have any issues with flex pipes on your Treg ?

Not yet. Thank God. I have an 07 3.6 v6 what about you?

Same thing, 07 3.6 v6. Two top flex pipes close to the engine are leaking, and it looks like they can not be welded in easily, wanted to see how other people have approached the task
