for the past 3 weeks i've been trying to get my hands on a Touareg V8, but no luck so far for finding the right one. Looking for a V8 Black/Anthracite with Equipment package II (Convinience Package+ Xenon Lights + Navigation and upgraded sound system if i'm not mistaken). The closest one i could found was one without the navigation.

So i was wondering how the non-stock navigations would look like installed in a Touareg. Is there any downside of installing a non-VW nav system?

I have installed a non vw nav/dvd unit and love it. The only downside is the loss of steering wheel function to control the radio. here are some pics they are not very good I can give you more upon request.

Honestly, if thats what you want then I would hold out until you find it rather than settling for something.

I bought my 06 Touareg by searching every city's Craiglist until I came up with my dream car in Dallas which I subsequently purchased with help from a local auto broker. Having the Nav built in connects with the instrument cluster in dash and the DVD is updated from Oct 2007. If the Hwy is jammed I simply ask it to re-route based on no hwys and wallah, I am on my way again! It also lists major locations, parks, stores, 4x4 storable waypoints, gas stations and parking lots along with estimated time of arrival.
