For those interested, this is my current 3.0 tdi r-line build.

2014 Touareg TDI R-Line, 126k miles.

Performance modifications:
  • APR drop in air filter replacement
  • Rawtek DPF delete midpipe
  • Malone / tunezilla stage 2.5 ecu tune, nurspec tcu tune, left foot brake enable
VCDS tweaks / coding:
  • dynaudio sound profile (do this)
  • show gear display on MFD
  • key fob window open/close
  • backup camera operation to ROW
  • DRL toggle in menu
  • Boot splash screen change
Cosmetic modifications:
  • ebay rline mudgaurds
  • gloss black vinyl wrap on all chrome trim, vw emblems, roof racks
  • plasti dip on "touareg" and "tdi" badge on rear hatch
  • tail light smoke
How it sits now:

My future plans:
  • Winter wheel/tire setup
    • OEM 19in 'Everest" rims, powder coated gloss black
    • Nokian Hakkapeliitta
  • light window tint
  • caliper customization
    • probably going to go with either yellow w/ Porsche logo, or blue with VW R logo. maybe just red.
  • underbody shielding / skidplate either from eurowise or ecs
  • CarPlay retrofit
  • door logo projector
  • boost gauge
  • Air suspension retrofit??!
The car is not throwing any codes anymore thanks to replacement of the MAP sensor (and removal of the dpf ;)).

Actually it is throwing one code. I switched the backup camera operation to ROW and there is a code saying i need to recalibrate it. it still operates fine but it would be great if someone on here knows how to calibrate it.

At least you ended up replacing the correct sensor instead of the MAF you were so eager to replace.... but you might as well buy a MAF too and just keep it on the shelf since this
APR drop in air filter replacement
should kill it soon....

why would it kill it? too much air flowing through? lack of filtering?

Looks good.
For my tastes I'm not really a fan of the blacked out VW badges but I know it's your vehicle and I realize you were going for a blacked out look.

I'm with you on that (on other colors).... but on a black unit, it works with the murdered out theme.
I agree.... until you look at the headlight assy's.
