Hi all just after feedback on what Milenco mirrors people have used and wether any problems clamping onto the existing mirrors plus when they fold back as car is locked also what you have found best flat glass or convex. Vehicle is 2018 V6 TDI

I have a 2018 V6 TDI, using Milenco grand Aero. Mirrors (with flat mirrors)
Folding up is no issue with mirrors installed
Although I imagine it depends on how you fit/adjust them.
No problems with them staying out
wondering if a convex mirror on the off-side may be better?

Thanks Grant it’s a good point on the convex on the off side as I definitely refer flat on the drivers side due to the distance perspective

Greetings and salutations for the new year... I use the Milenco Grand Aero and only have a couple of small issues I have a 2016 My17 and find that the mounting bracket is a very neat fit between the shroud and lens.. there are specific rubbers that fit the groove in the vehicle mirror shroud Milenco Aero Mirror LR Pads 4 Pk - Lowest Prices | Snowys Outdoors .. you also need to adjust the arm of the Milenco mirror to ensure that the housing does not interefere with the side window when retracted. apart from that they are brilliant and can be set up to view roofline clearance as well as van wheels both at the same time.

Thanks for the information on the pads and review of the mirrors are the mirrors just the standard length arm or do you need the wide version?

Just the standard, my original preference was to mount under the mirror but the arm kept hitting the window.. I shortened the arm by an inch or so but it did not improve the situation.. Having persevered with the top side of the mirror I am happy with it.
I have used Milenco Grand Aeros on a 7L and now a 7P since 2012.
Brilliant bit of kit, great vision, and the folding mirrors of the 7P are fine (after some careful adjustment of the Milenco positioning).

When doing a run across the paddock, I put some hooked stretchy tethers from the mirror arms to a secure anchoring point under the bonnet (closer to the windscreen). The reason being that the wind gust/pressure from on-coming triple road trains (or if up into the NW of WA - quads) can cause the Milencos to become unsettled.

I have the Touareg V-Grip rubbers for the mirrors now (since owning the 7P) and I must say they are more stable.

I have the Aero Platinum MIL 6606, regular size not Grand on a CR. I've only done a coupe of short trips, but the mounting has been solid, the regular mirrors are big enough and with the width of the Touareg, I have the Milencos tucked in close to the vehicle mirror and have the required field of view (ie the arms are more than long enough). The regular mirrors are close in effective size to the large Coast door mount mirrors I had on my Fairlane, so I didn't choose the Grand as I wanted to keep the load on my vehicle mirrors as low as feasible. Having mounted and used them I think I needn't have been concerned about minimising size and weigh, but I doubt I'll change to the Grand size.

I also use the Milenco Aeros on my 2016 Touareg. I found that the arm was well below the horizontal when the mirrors are on so I installed them with one claw upside down (see the pic). Gives me a better view down the side of the van and also the van wheels. From Clark Rubber, added a couple of strips of 5mm flat rubber trimmed to fit to fill the ledge on the mirror case. Works great.

Thanks everyone some good information
Same setup as @Enigmatic on my 2014. Done many many klms with them, including out west with the big road trains pushing air at us. Never a problem with that little rubber strip. Allows you to do them up tight. And the fold in nicely in the parking lot!

Milenco MIL-2899 Aero 3 (flat)
Not really feeling the look, but they work well, and actually seeing more than 1/2 way down your TT is pretty nice..... also not cheap.

They also successfully fold in with the mirrors. Make sure they are tight though. I had mine sucked of by a passing road train.

That's dependent on how you mount\adjust them. Mine didn't in the shown configuration, so I just disable the fold feature when using them.
