Hey Guys,

I just installed Spockcat's push button start kit and it got me wondering. I know audi's have had this feature for a while and I'm wondering if the Touareg might as well. In Audi's with keyless entry and memory seat you could "mate" the key fob with a memory seat setting so that it would always adjust to your setting when entering the car. So your wife could have one setting for her fob and you another for your fob.

Does anyone have any idea if this can maybe be VAGCOM'ed somehow?

The three buttons on the seat are just for that, setting your settings to that particular FOB. You should have a 1-3 number buttons above your seat controls, if you don't, you don't have memory seats and nothing you can do about it. Since you say you have keyless entry, which I assume you mean the buttons on the outside of the door handles, you should have memory seats also. You make all your adjustments than push the button until you hear a sound indicating it excepted the settings to that number. It then should detect that key and move the mirrors and seat to that fob.

Yep, I've got the three buttons on the side and they're set appropriately. But how do I mate button #1 for example to fob #1?
You make all your adjustments with that key in the ignition, then push button one till you hear and audible alarm from the dash. After you hear that your settings have been saved for that key in the number one postion.

This is covered in the manual as well.

Ok, I turn on the ignition (but not the engine) adjusted the seat and pressed the "Set" button and then held down the "1" button until I heard the beep. I then turned off the ignition and moved the seat forward a couple inches. I got out of the car, locked it and let it sit for a minute. I then got back in the car and started the engine with the key (not the start/stop button) but the seat did not move. I had to press and hold the "1" button for the seat to return to it's proper position. I must be doing something wrong.

I think I'll have to read up on this in the manual. Thanks for the help!

I think you will find that after you set the seat button and it has beeped you have to remove the key and press either the lock or unlock (not sure which) on the fob until it beeps to save the settings to the fob.

I've always wondered how the car knows what fob is "driving" vs "riding". If I have my fob in my purse in the car but Dick is driving with his fob in his pocket, and we use the keyless start. Which fob will each seat adjust to? :confused2:

I know this is a VERY old thread, but have been looking for help on this. I do not have the three memory seat buttons, but I do have push button start, which also means keyless entry correct??? So then I see in this thread keyless entry means memory seats?? 2010 Lux Limited w/ air. Any help?? Also not to seem stupid, but couldn't I replace the power seat controls with a memory control and have them work? Is the programing in the controls switch or is there a module somewhere else? Thanks!!

You don't have memory seats and it would not be worth trying to install it after the fact. It won't be as easy as replacing the control in the seat, trust me on that one. That option disappeared in 09-10. Came back in the '11 T3.
