I've used Meguiars on my 3 series with good results. Anyone have any others they really like? Also, does the brake dust get better after the first 1000miles? If not, we might look into covers...just hate to though....more of purist myself. thx.

What do you mean by covers?
He likely means something along these lines: http://www.bayougeep.com/pages/products/KenDisCBrakes.htm

They hide your nice shiny stuff though - and there is a school of thought that trapping the dust is bad for the mechanisms. I bet someone out there has a system for the touareg, I'm just not interested enough to find it.

You also run the risk of over heating your rotors and warming them if you use the covers. Wax the rims up well, and it will help wash the dust off easier.

5 star shine

Back here in the Washington DC area we have a really bad acid rain problem, I have been using this new product called 5 star shine, the web site is 5starshine.com I've used it on my ML-55 for over a year and a half and the water is still beading up with out having to be reapplied. where as with any other product it was having to be reapplied every three months. I also had very good luck with the high end Zymol products.
