Just went from 275/45r20 to 265/60r18 and I haven't noticed a decrease in braking. Acceleration doesn't seem as sharp though.
HI... What brand of 265/60r18 have you fitted? I'm considering the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 on 8" ET53 wheels which I replaced my standard 20's with.
Fortunately for you, Nitto Terra Grappler G2’s

They drive very nicely with no rubbing. Would recommend.

Looks like its got a bit of lift on it?

Appears the A/S is on "Offroad", would be interested to see a pic of the stance / arch clearance in "Normal" setting.

Hey mckpat03,

Do you realise you have your roof bars on backwards? spin them around and your wind noise will drop quite a bit. You will find a label under the key flap indicating the front of the vehicle.

Lol, thanks for the heads up, I definitely didn't realize it. I just tossed them on a while back and didn't think twice lol. I lifted the air suspension roughly 1.5" with VCDS. The tires rub the fender liners a little bit, but nothing too crazy. The rocker panel/pinch weld and the rear-heat coolant lines are all massaged quite heavily with a big hammer at the rear-bottom of the front wheel wells.

Hmmmm Massaged with a big hammer-----nice and delicate.
OK so to summarise for a V6Tdi T2 with air suspension, you can fit some 265/65/17's but it is brand specific and the clearance is only a fob width. So any serious off roading where you're bouncing up and down rocks, boulders and ruts with the natural flex in the bushes there is a good chance they could hit. I do not want any contact at all.
I will be due for tyres in the next 2 months so what are my options and what are peoples reviews/recommendations. I have always used 255/65/17 Yokohama geolandar AT/S but see they've been replaced with something much more expensive.

I have a 2008 v8 on Air Suspension with 18x8 et57 Cayenne wheels. I'm considering getting a set of Terra Grapplers G2 285/60R18. From my research, I believe I will be needing 5mm spacers to clear the brakes but does anyone have any experience with this setup or know if I will be ok with 285/60's without rubbing. On the tiresize.com I'm getting an overall diameter of 31.5" and the manufacturer claims 31.46". Would like to be able to use sport mode if need be without rubbing ? Think that would be possible without any issues?

Or would you recommend the usually 265/60/18 I see most people run on this thread?

I did find a prevous thread on here somewhere where someone had the same setup but on steel suspension.

Thanks

I run with 265/70R17 G2 Terra Grapplers with air suspension and have no problems with them. In the picture it's set to it's lowest load level and I have no rubbing whatsoever. I went with 17's due to the increased sidewall height over the 18's, which gives me slightly greater clearance and more ride cushioning.
