My 08 Touareg V6 (with 35,000 KM) just experienced a major system failure, which my VW dealer attributed to a 'bad connection' and excess moisture in the cabin, due to winter weather. This resulted in:
- Differential system lock failure
- Vehicle systems fault
- Keyless access malfunction
- Brake fault (service now!)
- Fault in the generator
- Engine light
- Accelerator non reponsive.
Since it couldn't be towed, I have to give the dealer credit, they sent a couple of mechanics to my house, who bridged the electric problem using one of their devices and got it started.
I was told an exposed connection (seen in many TREGS) was replaced/repared and was assured this was easily fixed and wouldn't happen again. It has me wondering about future problems.
Has anyone else experienced this?
