Hey Guys and Gals! I'm a rookie on these forums, so forgive me if I have posted in the wrong area. Also if you're a grammar Nazi better leave now.
Ok! So, I am having many issues with scan tools connecting and communicating which is very frustrating! Because this is happening. I can't measure any value blocks, reset address's or recode anything. My Snapon Solus Edge will allow me to read fault codes and that's about all. My vcds hex-net mobile will only ever get to 2% of an autoscan and no further. It also wont allow me to read measuring value blocks, reset address's or recode anything. It's being pain in the arse and I'm not overly great with technology. So I'm pretty much done with these scan tools at the moment!!!
I have 3 7L Touareg's 1x V6 1x V8 and the one that hates me but it's my favourite, My V10! I'm trying to bring this old girl back to her former glory but she is testing me to no end... I have been on and off this thing for nearly 12 months playing around with it. It's got more electrical communication issues now then when I first got it and all it does, is sit in storage until I start the next repairs. Batteries are always disconnected when sitting idle. I also bought brand new very heavy duty top of line batteries when I first bought the vehicle. From the day I purchased this car, the kessy never worked. Nor did the drivers seat and steering column electronics. Parking sensors front and rear, rear number plate lights. Heaps more but they were the main ones that bothered me.
So the vehicle prior to my ownership has had a Nokia handsfree phone unit, uhf/cb radio, aftermarket android stereo system and towbar kit fitted. So this is all the little electrical add on's I'm trying to point out. Not sure if any of these are the causes of my headache? I have noticed the factory tv/gps unit module below the cd stacker in the rear has been removed also. Again I am not sure if this would play havoc on the electrics as well? I have included some pictures that may or may not be of use. I'm just in need of some help on what to do or some help how to work these stupid scan tools. Oh I nearly forgot. I have checked all the fuses and they appear to be good upon testing them.
Thanks in advance!

Check under the footwell carpets for damp & corroded wires look for the telltale blue copper sulphate corrosion. Check the battery is in fully charged and reading 12.5 volts or more with the engine off & 14 with it running.
Any electrical items that have been added could well be a source of problems if wired up by a bodger. The canbus wires carry signals to the modules & may have been damaged.

Has it ever worked normally & now doesn't?

Hey guys, I have had a brief look around the wiring loom and never seen anything bad that stood out but I'm gonna have a much more detailed look over the weekend. I have had a lot of good feedback and suggestions with help over the last day and night from the group forums in what experiences people have suffered with this same sort of thing. So I a have many things now to give a try. The batteries are mint! Brand new and massive power output batteries for this vehicle. The problems have been in the vehicle since I first bought it and just got worse now, as explained in my original post.
