lol when we say “fix” we mean the software updates VW made to recertify The cars after dieselgate. They impacted reliability, efficiency, and power but made the car meet emission.

What’s even more sad is we didn’t get the new Touaregs starting from 2018. Imagine if we still got those, and still had diesel, and they gave us the V8 diesel option.

In the process of getting his former (mine now) up and running. It’s in good hands now, dropped the engine out last week.

I hope you’re not referring to the one v10 Curtis was selling. That one was in rough shape and kind of had title issues.

Either way. Good luck hunting one down OP! May take you a while but I’m sure you’re aware of that!

Also if you want to take your search a step further like I have in the past but had little luck with…try searching for a 2014-16 Porsche Cayenne Diesel but with all the options AND air suspension. It’s out there but rare.

The Touaregs from 2011-17 here in USA never came with air suspension so one way to circumvent this is to opt for the Cayenne Diesel which is still a Touareg at heart and has the exact same motor. Plus the older years of Cayenne I think like 2012-13 or newer could be found with ventilated seats but seriously good luck finding a fully loaded one with premium audio and air suspension which is known as PASM for Porsche brand.

Dang that is pretty nice... its a huge shame it isn't old enough to import yet... it wouldn't meet current emissions standards so I couldn't get it to import as is.

Yeah Canada has far nicer import laws for cars... I've been debating working on a dual citizenship just to import cars up there and register them there so I can drive them here since I live close to the Canadian border.

I am trying to find a dream car of mine that I have wanted ever since I first saw it.
2008 Touareg 2 V10 TDI in running condition. Ideally with the Red color or black for exterior and anything other than the beige for interior. But as they are Unicorns I would take what I could get.

A 2007 just hit Cargurus over in Novi, MI. No full details on it yet.

Still gotta hold out for a proper 2008. No luck on Facebook?

OMG, I was going back and forth with him on that one. i think i shook him off because I ALWAYS get a car inspected at a mechanic shop. He would contact me and say he get back to me and then I wouldn't hear from him for weeks, which happened three times. Knowing this I'm glad I got stood up on buying it.

We went back and forth for months. When he finally got back to me to the point where we could make progress, we set a date to pick it up. That week he goes I’m going to sell it to my cousin, I’ll let you know if it falls through. There were a lot of red flags on that one. From the auction post I found of it where it sold for like $4k due to mechanical issues, the Florida plates in NJ with the title holder still the dealership, to the picture I got with the hood opened but not showing inside the hood and that he wouldn’t send me a picture of the dash with the car running. I ended up finding a black with teak 07 in AZ that’s been broken in my driveway for a month after having to leave it in AZ because it broke for a month [emoji23] v10 Touareg life at its best

Yeah... I wish I was in the position to own a V10, but I lack a garage, tools, and the experience to work on one. Hence why I went with a stop-saled 2016 TDI with powertrain and Dieselgate warranties till 2029.

yep it’s exec with terra cotta interior. I really wouldn’t have it any other way than it already is, besides the headlights which I prefer T3 style over T4, esp with the known LED strip failures on the T4. Only other thing is no CarPlay. But I find the Dynaudio to be the best stereo I’ve owned yet.

It’s my first ever SUV. I’ve only owned Jetta’s, GTIs, and an Alltrack to this point. I love the ruggedness of an SUV, the confidence to drive over curbs (I live on an old south Philly block where we park half way on the curb to allow room for cars to drive down the block) and go offroading while also being so well composed on the highway is an awesome blend of utility. I love the 400 torque of the TDI, it really doesn’t lack despite its weight. And the overall build quality is just another level compared to all the other cars I’ve owned. So solid.

I bought the car 2 months ago and already got rear ended. Other car totaled, mine has about 3K in damages. Just needs a new white bumper, tow hitch, and new exhaust tip.

Yesterday I got to put the ventilated seats to use for the first time since it was over 70 in Philly. Amazing lol.

it’s also my first car with ACC, and also my first ever torque converter lol. Everything to this point has been manual or DSG. I really, really like how the Aisin 8-speed pairs with the Touareg.

I am smitten with it, and love it “for what it is,” where to this point I have been obsessed with modifying all my cars to make them “what I want them to be.” My last car before this was an Alltrack which I dropped like 15K modifying to OEM Golf R spec. For the same amount of net-investment I now have a car with more utility that I can sleep in, tow with, and generally will serve all my needs until the wheels fall off.
