17 or 18 inchers will fit nicely with a good choice of tyres at sensible money.

VW, AUDI or Porsche 4x4 wheels with 5x130 PCD will be fine. There are many threads on tyres and wheels - look them up.

I strongly recommend Michelin Latitude Cross - excellent grip, quiet, comfortable and long lasting too. These are a good tyre to run year round on your Tdi.

You were misinformed on minimum wheel sizes elsewhere!

It's only the R5 that has 5x120 PCD. All other Touaregs are 5x130.

Unless you mean the carrier itself is 5x120 [in which case it's good for the R5 subject to the offset] so you need a convertor to accommodate 5x130? I looked on the website and couldn't see the PCD.

Thank you, but as I understand it (I have been told by a wheel and tyre supplier), that we can't go smaller than 20" due to the size of the calipers.

I have only just seen this post.

What you were told not true.

Whoever you were talking to does not know the Touareg like we do!

You can, as I said earlier, go to 17 inch wheels if you wish.
