Transfer case fluid while you do diifs fluids.... if it hasn't been done already.

If you open your fuel filler flap is there a rubber flap beside the diesel filler cap under which is the refill opening for 5 litres of Eolys fluid (also called PAT fluid)?

It's expensive stuff that self administers into the diesel tank on each fill up.

IF your car uses it then it lasts about 100k but it is also time limited so the tank is supposed to be drained and refilled every 5 years.

It's nasty stuff and MUST be handled with care and disposed of correctly.

Thanks yes I did the change last year the PAT fluid is very expensive.

 

Hey guys I was just wondering what other items I should be looking at for servicing. My 2010 R50 V10 has 225000km on it and I have done all the filters and fluids other than diffs.
What other items should I look at for service before they go bang.

I would check the inlet manifold for a build up of soot.

Wow, first time hearing of this "Eolys tank." Interesting... Yeah these emissions systems are unreal on modern diesels lol. This sounds like something that would be included in a "delete" but again I've never even heard of it before!

 

Maybe you're too young to remember the video tape standard battle between VHS and Betamax - well similarly, Eolys and Adblue are two different way to reduce NOx from diesels and Adblue seems to be winning the battle.

 

Eolys is a pre-ignition treatment and adblu is post-ignition.
