Pics and a child build thread. Stick around.

May post a link but the build thread wouldn't live on the Touareg forum..

This is a great group of guys and I hang around to help with Treg audio questions but other than that I am useless.. 😁

Opposite.

Early Q7's are supercharged and current versions are turbo'd.

My 18 is SC. But I chose that because the new ones have the all digital dash and I wanted buttons and knobs.

I hate 15 clicks to change the fan speed then 10 more to adjust radio volume.

That is why I loved my 16 Treg and why I only went up 2 years on the Q7.

APR sells the dual pulley and ECU tune to get this up to 450hp 420ftlbs.. That will be enough for a grocery getter and occasional motorcycle hauler.
I suppose I should have said <2019. I have an A6 with the 3.0 SC motor....same as your Q7?

Negative... he's got a different engine! :p
Audi A6/S6 (C7)
A6 (2012-2018) S6 (2013-2018) Key Engine Info: There are two main versions of the 3.0T engine. The 2009-2015 A6 has the first gen engine with the press on supercharger pulley. The 2016-2018 A6 has the second gen "evo" engine with the bolt on supercharger pulley.

Pretty sure we are talking about @volkswagens-for-life vs "mine" engines :p

I have no intention to replace my Touareg in short/medium term. I like it a lot, it doesn't feel like a SUV to drive; it feels connected (being lowered). Fuel consumption is very nice (diesel) for a car of any size, exceptional considering the shape & weight. Fit & finish is excellent. Comfort is great as well. The RS850 show it's age, but still OK.
But I miss the driving a "car" look.

If I were to buy something today for something else, I would get a Volvo V90 T6 as I have the family "car"; we have 3 kids. We can do a smaller car for day to day, but need something a bit bigger for long haul.
Ditto this... I've eyed the V90s (in either street or "off-road") trim as a viable long-term replacement for my VW addiction, presuming Volvo continues to sell them in the US whenever our '15 TReg gives out and there are no more to be had.

For off-road or towing, the V90 won't hold a candle to a TReg, so if we end up getting the travel trailer we have in mind one day, we'll have to re-evaluate, but for cargo versatility and paved road cruising comfort, full-size wagons do it better.

I have a base-model '08 Passat manual wagon that's in great shape and have been poring over all the ins and outs of up-speccing it using compatible goodies from the CC parts bin in the US like a full leather ventilated seat interior and ACC, then some euro-only options like DCC, DLA, parking heater, etc...

I am the original owner of a 2004 V8 Touareg that I purchased new. It now has 225,000 miles on it and I feel it's time for me to start looking for a new vehicle.
Really enjoyed my time with my Touareg and would like to replace it with another V8 engine SUV since they are a dying breed. I have started looking and like the Audi SQ8, a used Porsche Cayenne Turbo, M-B AMG G63, BMW X5 M50I and the new Range Rover. I can't believe where the prices are at and the ridicules ADM's. Worst part is none of the dealers have any of these vehicles in stock so I can't test drive the vehicle which makes choosing a vehicle difficult.
I will wait until next spring where I hope the prices come back down to reality.

You could go for a 2016 TDI Exec. I found one this year with an in-service of 5/2019 and only 30K miles. Warranty to 2029 + 100/120K miles. Basically like resetting the clock on a "new" car - but I paid nearly 50% off MSRP. 406 factory torque, and even more with a tune / delete. 4 cylinder gas mileage (lifetime 24 / highway 29+). Last of a dying breed of "real" SUVs - as you refer to them.
