I've been having a recurring issue with the parking sensors and the headlight/sat nav day/night sensor that I can't seen to get resolved.
Firstly my parking senors are sometimes 'going off' when I'm in traffic. Once you drop below the speed limit for the sensors to operate, they sometimes come on when I'm sitting in traffic queues. I'ts always the front sensors and they start going to the high pitched scream as if I was 12" away from hitting something, the thing is it's generally a car that's 4 or 5 metres away. The dealership have told me that its the paint on the sensors, the paints been put on too thick so it's causing the sensors to activate. The thing is it only does it occasionally so if it is the paint why doesn't it do it All the time and it's nearly always when it's wet.
Next is the day/night setting for the lights and sat nav. Even on a bright sunny day my sat nav is on night setting (black screen) and my headlights are switched on. Very very occasionally the screen goes to the green daytime setting and my lights go off. I also can't switch off my headlights, if I do 10 seconds later they come back on again, even in bright sunlight! I've got videos of this happening but the dealership say they can't get it to happen when they have the car in to the workshop.
I know it's not a serious issue but my car has an extended warranty and I just want it fixing but now they're just starting to fob me off and I'm getting very frustrated.
I heard that the parking sensor issue was well known, has anyone else heard this?
Thanks in advance.
