Hi All,
I'm looking for any extra ideas before paying for a new Electronic Park Brake module (AUD$2300). My old one fried and also wrecked my Drivers side actuator at the same time.
I took the car to a mechanic who was able to set the air gaps, but the weren't able to clear the park brake fault. They reported:
"Attempt to code VIN to new parts with single use download code, programming failed 3 times
Carried out extensive code checking and found EPB has internal electrical fault and manufacturer lock out codes."
The replacement EPB Module I ordered came from a written off Touareg, the mechanic suggested that maybe the error codes and VIN number on it can't be cleared from an EPB if the car has been in an accident.
I reached back out to the smash repairs who set the donor vehicle was in a crash, but the airbags didn't deploy.
Are there any tips or tricks, or the only other action is to order a new EPB? I have the original OBD 11 if that helps.
