I was just thinking today while putting my daughter into her cold carseat, why doesnt this thing have a remove start option? I mean you can start it from the push button if the key is in range all you have to do it put your foot on the brake. So why couldnt a remote start system be easily installed from the factor or after market? I would think a remote relay to close brake switch circuit, and a remote relay to activate ignition sequence, and the key should be in range i it has enough range to lock/unlock doors. Has anyone done this? I tried searching some threads but no real useful information and i didnt see anything about the technology package. It seems like it should be pretty simple to do on a vehicle already equipped with keyless ignition.

You could always equip the Duramax for that.

Haha i have my block heater on my truck but my wife isnt going to be driving it, it's too big for her. I was just thinking it would have been a very easy option to add being i already have keyless entry and keyless start.

Today i discovered you cant have the DVD on while driving. That's pretty stupid, so how can my daughter watch TV from the backseat while we're driving? There is no video out, the DVD player doesnt work in motion so what is the point of there even being a DVD player on this car? And it has bluetooth connection to a phone for music but not for hands free talking? I'm very disappointed in the Germans for such a silly lack of simple options

No VIM= Video In Motion with a screen in view of the front seats on any vehical. It is actually illegal and reason you don't have it. Has nothing to do with the Germans design. That being said there are ways to do it, but you are doing it at your own risk. I'm not telling you how to achieve it, but you do have the correct term above to search and decide for yourself.

Remote start is something no one has sucessfully found to be able to get working on the Touareg with out seriously hacking into the elecltrical system to do such. There were a couple of people claiming to have done it, but no details on how it was achieved. If you have the RNS 510 it should have hands free bluetooth unless 09 was different for some reason. My 10 has it and works well.

Well i guess i was more referring to the fact there was no video out option for the DVD player to run a rear monitor and use the stereos speakers. So the DVD play is just about useless then.

I saw a thread where someone had done it, it was very involved. It looked more to me like it would be easier to buy two remote actuator to push down on the brake pedal and remote start button haha. I will just tell my wife to get her butt out there and start the car. It wasnt any big deal it didnt have it, it just seemed like an option that could have been integrated for almost nothing for vehicles with keyless entry and start.
