I have a 04-V8 and one of the option codes (actually it is 8N3)is for "Windwhield wiper intermittent control with rain sensor".

Anyway, when I move the stalk into postion "1" and turn the dial, the wipers swipe once and stop. Move the dial up another notch, the wipers swipe once and stop, finally move it to the fasted intermittent setting and once again the wipers swipe once and stop. When I move it to the top notch, the wipers swipe constantly. And when I stop at a light, the wipers stop and only continue at the constant rate when I start moving.

Is this a Vag-Com programming issue, a switch issue, a sensor issue? Has anyone had experience with this problem?

Is it actually raining at all when it does this or do you have a dry window? If it is dry it will not do anything until it senses rain.

Sorry, forgot to mention, good rain here in the DFW area today. So test was on wet windows.

You probably have a faulty rain sensor then. There is an option via VAG Com to make it just a normal intermittent wiper like is in most other cars. I can't recall what the coding is to make that change. If you are under warranty take it back to the dealer and have them check the rain sensor.
