Hi Guys,
I have started getting a problem in the Touareg which I had on my last car.
The roof lining is all coming away and the leather on the door cards is all turning loose, my car was first registered on Dec 23rd 2007 (So 8 1/2 years old give or take). Now my last car was an Audi S2 and it failed with the same issue after 15 years, the Touareg after 8.
Now the door cards and the roof can be fixed easily and cheaply (relatively), however these are not the only components which use the same type of foam. A few month ago heading to work at 5am I had the aircon on, fan on 1/3rd blowing at me and I noticed a condensation patch on the outside of the windscreen in the middle indicating the internal flaps are not sealing properly and the aircon is blowing at the windscreen. This patch has slowly been getting worse. The other day a piece of black sealing foam blew out of one of the side vents.
Has anyone ever had this issue?, Has anyone ever had the ventilation system apart and replaced the internal flaps or seals?
I had this issue on the S2 and it was a pig to repair--to the point I never fully resolved the issue. Now with the Touareg I have observed certain features are made for working on such as the vent fan is easy to replace.
Any input will be much appreciated.
Graham

Reading Elsawin, to access any of that setup the dashboard has to come out. -----Yeah nah. [-(
Guess i'll have to live with it. It bugs me to wonder why manufacturers make an expensive car out of cheap components. Silicon foam lasts for ever, couldn't they have made the hard to access components out of something durable.
