Installing Electric brakes - how to??

I think you will find plenty of info on the forum, but it took my autotech about 20 mins to install my electric brake controller using the pre-existing factory wiring built into the harness in my V6 2007 TDI. My local VW agent recomended the auto electrician as he had done many before and knew the Touareg. Recommend you do the same.

Hi there, I want to put a tekonsha 90250 on my small van which already has electric brakes. X5 BMW towing. All the wiring thru 7 pin plug and socket already there, so I don't want to disturb it. Do I only need to connect the blue wire from car to brake controller and from brake controller to van to make it work? Any advice you can give would be much appreciated or even a diagram. Am in Western Victoria. info@grampiansresort.com.au. Many thanks, John.
Hi,

I have a Tekonsha Prodigy II fitted to my 2007 Touareg. Unit is installed to the left of the steering column away from my knee and in an easy place to adjust/test and monitor if encountering long hilly decents while towing. AS for the install, all the wiring is already in place in the VW factory wiring harness and accessaible in the hatch below the sterring colum so just plug and play. Sounds like you may be making a simple 5 minute job very complicated.

Cheers, Richard
