Hey guys! I recently started playing with VCDS tweaks on my 16’ TDI Executive and have an issue now. The back up camera is inoperable and the “Parking Distance Warning System” states “The Function Is Currently Not Available” when trying to access from the RNS 850. Also putting the car reverse gives me the beep, parking mode button illuminates, but no camera on the screen.

Yes, I’m well aware I should have copied all my original coding before playing around but I didn’t and now I suffer the consequences.

I did go through all the tweaks again but still no dice. No fault codes present on any modules.

If I had to guess it is a “Green Screen” configuration issue or something I did in the Park/Steer Assist controller.

Looking for someone with the same or similar model that would be willing to share that current coding so I can compare. Everything else works great, but I would be nice to have the backup camera and other cameras working again. 🤦‍♂️

It's a shame that after "all that experience" you started with the dumbest possible approach.....
Also can't understand why you didn't code the battery after replacing it.

Also, did you "literally" just replace the battery prior to scanning.... because the FF data on that fault is FRESH

Oh believe me I know... I'm kicking myself in the ass over this stupid mistake. I didn't code the battery because a friend was borrowing my cable. Been a week or longer...

UPDATE:

Camera system works again... Not exactly sure what fixed it though. I did recode the battery and got rid of the low voltage codes - cameras still inoperable. I played around with my green screen settings some more and went back through and reverted all the VCDS tweaks - cameras still inoperable.

The car sat over night and I went on a short road trip the next day... During the road trip at a gas station I put the car in reverse and suddenly I have all my cameras again.

Very strange issue, but happy its all sorted for now.
