If you want, you can PM or Email me the list of parts you want along with your VIN number. I can get a quote from a Volkswagen Dealer here in Ireland and I can ship them to Australia.

If it is not VW genuine parts you want, then try Ebay...

Hi
Yes i have brought a few items from the USA for my egg, and probably will purchase more parts from there as most of their parts even with freight are cheaper than here.
But i cannot see how it would be cheaper to buy general service parts fron there ( $600-$700 would not include anything special, even from the USA)
Both Ryco and wefil make airfilters and cabin filters for yours and oil filters a cannot be to much from genuine as a V10 filter is only $39 for me.
Oil would be cheaper here than shipping from over there.

i can understand brakes and coils etc but not servicing

Regards

Was quoted $600 and $750 for my 150k service which includes changing the cabin filter, oil and filter and that's about it. Just ordered 2 cabin filters from USA delivered for tue price of one from the dealer ($50) and am getting air filters and oil filter shipped from UK for half the dealers price too. Will then take car to the dealer who I bought it from, get it serviced with my parts and save myself around $300. I guess the main point is that VW seems to overcharge for both parts and labour and if their prices were more competitive then a lot of us wouldn't spend a lot of time researching ways to save a couple of bucks but saving hundreds is another story

G'day Adam, I haven't got your VIN yet for those brake bits, John
Hi John, sorry about that, i'll PM it to you now. Have found what I think is a good deal on Brembo brake discs/rotors and pads from an Ebay store in the UK that i have just bought some bulbs and filters from.
For a complete set of front and rear rotors and pads (V8) delivered for around $800 delivered (assuming the combined shipping rates quoted). doesn't include sensors though.

Hi Adam,

I have bought a few items from this mob in Germany, very good pricing and so far they have been very good. They also have an Ebay On-Line shop. They mostly do second hand salvage parts but can do new...

Höck & Tadge GbR - Impressum/AGBs

Although the website does not have an English Language option, Google Translate works and they speak English (naturally).

Ebay Seller... gopa-shop

I recently priced a Trailer Module, here (new) from VW was about $300 , from this mob, 89 Euro delivered.

have fun..

Delivered to Australia

Gympietreg -

We ship our parts to Australia regularly via FedEx economy service, which takes 6 days, and lands there without duty or taxes to pay, due to your $1000 personal importation exemption. I've seen Sydney dealer's quote $2300 AUD for four wheel brake job without labor!

My complete offering includes all small parts necessary and adds up to just half of this in USD, with freight included.

Please inquire at your convenience,

Geoff

VW are obscene what they charge for parts over here, and their service of our vehicles seems almost as bad.
But as i said for general service parts you mentioned saving about $300.

I did the sums on my V10 service and can supply all parts including cabin filter for $275 with all parts obtained from my local area.
I just question what would you do if one of the filters etc were incorrect ( their fault)
How much hassle they are to return.( i have been there)

Yes as i said parts are very attractive from overseas and i regularly do purchase from ebay and have every intention to continue.
So if you guys would like to swap contacts and site i would be very interested and greatful.

regards ;)

I've just ordered a set of OEM front mud flaps and extensions from VW Discount Parts.com for a total cost of AUD 141 which includes $60 for freight ex USA.
My local dealer quoted me $357.95 for the exact same thing!

Look up Discount Volkswagen Parts as they seem to carry quite a range of parts for all VW's at genuine discounted prices.

Hi QPower1
That price seems very competetive considering it is delivered to my door for that.
I presume that price would also be for rear 330mm and front 350mm setups?

Dragline-

Sorry for the delay, I've been on holiday in the nation's Capitol, eyes up for Touareg sightings ( saw just a few...:( ) !

One price scheme fits all kits, except that the R5 is not a North American market vehicle, so it is not offered by me. Pads are not available for the R50 as well... Certainly the V6 petrol, V6 TDI, or V10 TDI.

Geoff

No new activity on this thread for a while so I though I'd update you all on some recent purchases. The blower motor on the a/c needed replacing and after searching on the net for ages the best price was just under $300 without shipping so I rang the dealer on the Sunshine Coast and got it for $420. Was meant to be $470 but guy on phone wrongly quoted trade price (must of thought I was a mechanic because I knew the part number). Took about 20 minutes to take the old one out but I've spent an hour trying to get the new one in and being 6"3 there's not a lot of room in the passenger foot well! Gave the dealer a call to quote for install and they want $100 and say it will take nearly an hour to put in! I got a good price for the part but I'll be buggered if I pay $121/hr in labour charges. Threads on here state the job can be done at home in 30 minutes but the service manager thinks a fully trained technician will take 50 minutes to do the job. Go figure.
The better news is that I have just ordered lots of consumable parts from amazon.com through their global shop section and for less than $350 delivered I have got for my V8:
2 x K&N air filters
2 x Bosch oil filters
2 x Bosch cabin filters
2 x packs Philips xtreme power H7 bulbs (2/ pack)
1 x pack of Philips H9 standard bulbs
1 x Valeo rear wiper blade
1 x Bosch aerotwin front wiper blades (pack of 2)
8 x NGK iridium spark plugs

Pretty good value I think and delivery is really cheap. You can also load your specific car into the search parameters and save it to a "garage" for future use. They've got really good prices on sensors and other items too. Unfortunately they won't ship ignition coils. They have them for $25 and the stealer wants over $90. $200 vs nearly $800 is a huuuuuge difference (for a V8). Hope this helps if you haven't ordered from Amazon before.
Cheers
Adam
