Hello there! I've been here for a few years (2011) building this garage stored Touareg slowly but surely and as many before me have found out; my family and I have outgrown it and are moving on to an Audi Q7! I'd rather sell it here to another enthusiast than trade it in, or a CarMax.
I've just had the car serviced at its 80K service date with the full timing belt service, idlers, tensioners, and a metal water pump. I ordered this kit Vw Touareg Timing Belt - Vw Touareg Timing Belt Kit - Enhanced and had the local dealership in Pensacola (Pete Moore) install it. Also had them service the transmission using this kit Vw Touareg Transmission Fluid Filter Change Kit - Vw ATF 6 Speed
I replaced the driveshaft bearing early (around 10k miles ago?) with the permanent European Parts Solution (EAS) kit https://www.amazon.com/Clamping-Bea...qid=1496879474&sr=8-1&keywords=vertex+touareg
Stock options: (Packages 1,2,3 with parking sensors)
Air Suspension
4 zone climate control
Bi-Xenon Headlights
Cold weather package
Keyless entry package
Anti-dazzle rear-view and side mirrors
Rear window shades, rear cargo cover
Front and rear parking sensors
12 way adjustable front seats with memory
TPMS system fully functioning
This Touareg has everything but the rear locker option and rear heated seats at this point. I've also replaced just about every button in the Touareg with the new 08 part numbers, so peeling with never be an issue in the future. Replaced the rear hatch struts, tailgate window struts, parking brake strut, and the front hood struts. Replaced the D1S bulbs a few days ago and inspected my headlight housing wiring, its perfect with no bad insulation (can verify with a photo and a date if requested.)
Added options:
Porsche Cayenne 'Yellow' Sway bars (15k miles)
Paddle Shifters (5k miles) VW TOUAREG - PADDLE SHIFT INSTALLATION
Keyless start VW TOUAREG - KEYLESS START INSTALLATION
Heated steering wheel and associated modules
Dual rear fog lights installed with the Euro switch https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine...ght-switch-automatic-lighting/7l6941431aj3x1/

(2) Brand new D1S Philips Xtreme Vision HID Bulbs installed
Brand new OEM 2008 T2 Touareg Taillights (2k miles)

Full LED lights interior and exterior (mirror puddle lights, rear license plate lights) no check bulb errors.
T2 Climate control headunit installed, to replace mine with peeling buttons and the fact it couldn't be reprogrammed for the tropical climate modification. http://www.clubtouareg.com/forums/f43/windshield-condensation-problem-41299.html
2x Stahl oil drain plugs, for quick and clean oil changes!
Escort Radar detector hard wired, I'l leave the wiring in place next to the rear view mirror.
Additional items included:
Weathertech mats (Front, rear and cargo)
KII-USB Vagcom Ross-Tech: KEY-USB Interface
Stock 18" wheels with 255, Nitto Grapplers still installed (backups)
Rear tailgate spoiler from VW that's unpainted
Yakama Fat Cat 6 snowboard attachments
OEM Silver Roof racks
Heated Bentley Steering wheel (yet to install, to complete the heated steering wheel install)
OEM navigation unit w/ nav disks
OEM 2004 non-tinted taillights
Now for the good:
The car gets complimented everywhere for its appearance and condition, the car lived its entire life in the dry heat of the southwest. I've lived here in Florida for the last 3 years with it and its been garaged during my keep and I was told the prior owner did the same.
The brake pads, disks, and sensors were changed about 20-30 miles ago with Zimmerman rotors and Hawk LTS pads.
3 sets of keys are included, along with the roof rack keys
A/C serviced and recharged July 2016
The bad:
Small paint chips on the front over the course of 80k miles. (Not much, but they are there)
Last year I had to have the driver side rear passenger window replaced due to breakage. The window glass chipped the paint and needs repair. Once the new car arrives I can drop it off for repair or you can take it as is (very minor).
Rear passenger back seat has a chunk of plastic missing from the upper hold? The piece handle that sits under the rear headrest (you wouldn't know if the headrest is installed).
Driver side LLumar matching tint, has a few vertical scratches.
Honestly there is nothing mechanically or cosmetically wrong with the vehicle. I picked it up with 32k miles in January of 2011 after reading this site for a few weeks on what to look for and the ins and outs of Touareg's in general. I had just taken a snowboarding trip up to Colorado in my 4x2 Xterra and found the limits of 4x2 even with snow tires! I picked this up and drove over to the local VW and had the coil pack recall completed and printed out the full service history. I'll scan and upload that tomorrow.
I'll take pictures of everything and add more tomorrow (I'm sure there is more). I also keep receipts so everything is verifiable!
For now I'm just curious if anyone is genuinely interested.
Thanks for reading!
