I see the Touareg photo in the Dennison gallery but I cannot see the text on the screen. Looks like the same CD changer track info as usual. In fact, I don't see text in any of the photos. Anyone else see text on the screens?

If you have the nav system that is no problem. You can connect to one of two AUX inputs. If you have the standard radio, then you have only two options; the CD changer port with something like the Blitzsafe adapter or FM modulation.

Please excuse my ignorance. but what does UI mean ?

i.e Denison UI v Ipod UI.

I have recently bought a 3.0 tdi Nav Touareg here in the UK
& want to install an Ipod which I've just got as well.
Am I able to access all the songs when the Ipod is installed near the changer in the boot?

I just installed an icelink for someone yesterday. I used one of the two anodized screws that are behind the radio in the dash for ground. I verified that I had good continuity between the metal behind the radio and in the plug. I was a bit worried because of the anodizing on the screw. The icelink played fine once installed.

ID3 Tag display with the ice>Link plus for DVD Nav stereos was rumored for first quarter 2005. Has anyone seen a working install yet?

Ain't happening with the current DVD nav, which is only a modification of the previous CD nav.

Is there anything that will allow me to hook up the Ipod and an XM commander on a standard radio? If no one comes out with a aux. switcher soon, I may just get the Pioneer Airware XM unit, and just manually switch between the XM and Ipod.

I don't really care about using the MFI for controlling either...but having the Ipod charge would be nice.

Blitzsafe VW/AUX V.5 to an audio switch and then on to both audio units. The audio switch would have to be something manual. or perhaps you could skip the switch and just splice the outputs from both audio devices onto one cable. It will sound funny if you try to play both at once but how often will you do that?

If I can't get the ID3 info to display on the DVD Nav, why would I want to spent the extra money on the Icslink over the Blitz? That is what i was using to justify the extra cost. Is there another reason before I invest?

The only advantage the icelink has over the Blitzsafe MLink is that the icelink gives you the ability to go forward/reverse with the steering wheel controls. But you are talking about an additional $125 for that convience.

Does the ICE-LINK charge the iPod while driving?

Yes, so does the Blitzsafe MLink.

MLink works with both nav and non-nav radio. It has an iPod plug on the bottom that puts the audio into the CD changer port and charges the iPod. All controls are on the iPod, except for volume control. That is on the radio or steering wheel. The playlists would be accessed through the iPod. I have the MLinks for $75 shipped.

I am a new member of the forum and live in the Netherlands. I just bought a 5.0 litres V10 TDI Touareg, one of the first models (jan.2003).
I am planning to buy the Icelinkplus to enjoy my iPod music in my new Touareg, but I have read the Icelinkplus forum discussions, and I still am not sure whether it's possible to see the track titles etc. on my navigation-screen. Does anybody know whether an update is available to make this function? I have read of many promises bij vendors, but is it still a promise or...
