yes that was the first thing done my last treg was a 7p had no trouble at all this problem is only on 2024 onwards thanks
are you using the same Ross-Tech module that you used on your 7P?
I believe (@evaddirb can you clarify) that it won't work, and you will need to get a new/updated Ross-Tech cable.

I am using the latest hex-net registered device it worked fine on my 7p touareg
ok...when did you purchase the cable, and did you get it from Ross-Tech or an authorised re-seller here in Oz?

from ross tech I can scan for faults ok just cant make changes the other company ob11 are in the same boat .what I need are access codes.
ok. Apologies, I wasn't trying to be annoying. Just gathering all the background info.

I thought on the 7P's you didn't need to open the bonnet? At least I never have had to...

Unless you're referring to the CR/RC

When you try to access the modules that require an access code, VCDS usually suggests an appropriate one. I've done a lot of programming on my CR, and so long as the bonnet open, it works. That's the only car I've come across that required that, due I think to it's possible internet connectivity, whenever that will be enabled here!

Maybe go to the Ross-Tech forum, and ask there for whatever code you need. They're very helpful.

So MY24 vehicles are protected with the updated security features to UNECE R155 & R156 standard.
This new layer of protection, sometimes called “SFD2,” safeguards the car’s control units from unauthorized access, particularly for updates performed over the air (OTA).
You may be able to clear some DTC's if using the VCDS Beta Version but that's it unfortunately. Totally locked out from any Adaption functionality.

(Am I not surprised why VW cant after-fit a trailer module/tow-bar to a 2024 model........NO, cause adaption can't be done)
Reading material HERE in the Ross Tech forum.

Love it when Euro car makers do this ****... makes potential customers more likely to buy Asain cars

Yes SFD2 cars are guaranteed dealer income for now except for scanning for faults and clearing them if no longer present. i would stay clear of them until VCDS or OBD11 can access them at reasonable cost if you want to make coding changes

Unfortunately was unaware when purchasing my MY24 last year.
Would have looked for a Dec MY23 build if I was educated at the time. Too late now.
Can't even turn off the nanny screens Grrrr..........
