I have a 2012 Touareq that has had a smell since it was new. The dealer has done all sorts of fixes, including replacing the air con condenser. That took three weeks and included removing the entire dash. They did give me a car during the fix so it wasn't a big deal. Everything seemed great for three weeks. Then the the smell came back. One thing I did notice was that a few times I noticed that the carpet was damp on the drivers side where the little pocket is. I could never find out why.

Yesterday I had the back open and as I was loading up it started raining. I then noticed water running out in between the driver side panels at the back. This is a TDI Lux with a sunroof. I am thinking that there may be a drain line somewhere in there that is cracked, not connected tightly of plugged. I need to remove the panels to see what is back there.

Rather then muscling them off I thought I'd ask if anyone knows how to get the panels off. I took out the two torx bolts, but everything still seemed pretty tight.

I've attached a picture. The water was running out between the white and black panel.

Thanks,
lou

Hello, I have exactly the same issue. Can someone tell me how to drop the rear headliner enough that i can get at the tube for the rear drain on the drivers side? I am pretty sure the tube is unhooked. I have tried poking a piece of weedeater line up from the bottom but have had no luck.. I am puzzled how to access these rear drains?? Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Wife has to drive the treg to work daily and the rain lately is crazy. Help please
