The first question would be: are the wiring connectors for the TPMS transmitters there? They look to be located at the top of all four wheelhouses. Below is one example. If the wiring connectors are NOT there, forget about it. If they are there, then you will need the four transmitters and the TPMS control module. Tehn, I would assume you will need to activate these in VCDS.

It is helpful, let me check my car then. My Volvo S80 has TPMS with tire pressure alert, but no tire pressure display of 4 wheels. The sensor on each wheel send signal to TPMS module via bluetooth. Am I right? Thanks for your tips!

There are two quite different methods of TPMS - 1) using the ABS sensors, the electronics detect a significant difference in rotational speed to set the warning - 2) battery-operated sensors in/on each wheel measure the tyre pressure and transmit it to the electronics which are then compared with each other and the set threshold level.

VW Touareg uses option 2) but there are variations depending on year, eg one central receiver which needs coded sensors in each wheel or a receiver in each wheel arch so automatically knows which tyre is which.

Contributors here are unlikely to know how the Volvo system(s) work.

If you want to do a retrofit on a vehicle that doesn't have that "option", then you need to look up the wiring diagrams for one that does, and add all the wires\connectors\modules\senders\receivers etc. that are part of said system.
VCDS will be needed to change the gateway installation list, and some additional coding changes..... it's a little more involved than just adding some sensors to a set of wheels, etc. (costly too)
