I've looked on the ross tech wiki and can't find any information on how to code the ABS pump. I've just put a replacement unit on my car and it's showing a coding error.

These may help

200? V6 Petrol - Coding: 0014338
2004 v8 Petrol - Coding: 0014594
2004 V10 - Coding: 0022785
2006 W12 - Coding: 0022786

included FYI, but I would suggest the first three would be applicable to your model.

2008 V6 TDI -Coding: 0004354
2010 V6 TDI - Coding: 0004482

kind regards
Stuart..

Mine is a 2003 3.2 V6 petrol. I tried your code (0014338) and it accepted it but I'm still getting the same error.

01044 - control module incorrectly coded

Looking at an old scan I did of my car before I swapped the pump, my original code was 0014337. I've tried putting that in but get an error message "coding rejected. error 31 - out of range"

Could it be that the pump isn't suitable for my car? It came off a V8 petrol. The part numbers were 7L0 614111F for the pump and 7L0 907379G for the ECU. The pump on my old one is the same number but with a B on the end. The controller is the same but ends with an A.

I think I know this one.... Check you copy of VCDS and make sure you DON'T have all zeros in your Workshop Code settings.. Anything other than zeros will be fine.. Zeros will throw 01044 error.

The 0014338 coding is from a unit with a "G" series ABS unit..

Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels: 7L0-907-379-MK25.lbl
Part No: 7L0 907 379 G
Component: ESP ALLRAD MK25 0203
Coding: 0014338
Shop #: WSC 31414 000 00000

It did have all zeros in the workshop bit, i've changed that and re-coded it and recoded the CAN bus, i'm still getting the errors.

I can code the 0014338 and it accepts that but I get the error. When I try 0014337 I get the error and it won't code it.

Sorry that's about my limit on the subject. Maybe somebody else could help. Have you tried sending an email to Ross Tech's support line. They are very good and responsive.

I have been following you posts and can offer no other comment than i would have replaced like part numbers for like parts numbers not units from a V8 but from the same as yours a V6.

I wish you luck

My understanding is that with VAG part numbers the letter at the end is what revision the part is and even if I bought brand new from VW they wouldn't supply a unit with the exact same number. Is that correct or not?

I know for a fact that even if a part has the same number they can be different if the letter at the end is different.

My mechanic just helped me replace the ABS pump and module on my 2008 V6 Gas. The ABS light has gone out and the car drives and brakes(!) fine but I've still got the ESP light on. I hooked up my poor mans VCDS (VAG scanner nt500) and it's throwing error codes; 01044 Control module incorrectly coded; 01310 Level Control System Control Module (J197); 15657 Unknown Error

I managed to find the exact same part number replacement (7L0907379K 7L0614517) so I was hoping I wouldn't need to code it. I realise now that was probably a bit naive. It appears to have been previously coded to 0008646.

Does anyone know the correct 000XXXX code for a 2008 V6 Gas or do you need more information?

Any help much appreciated.

OK I haven't found a V6 gas VCDS print but almost all '08's I did find seem to use code 0004482.
I coded this and the 01044 Control module incorrectly coded and 15657 Unknown Errors have gone. :D

Unfortunately the ESP light is still on and I still have 01310 Level Control System Control Module (J197) error.
I don't have air suspension, so this is really strange. Can anyone shed any light on why I would have this error?

Does anyone have a 2008 V6 gas, no air suspension VCDS print so I can see the ABS code?

Thanks

Don't suppose you have a 2008 V6 Gas (no air ride) do you Sir?

Last try before I go to the dreaded VW dealer.

Cheers,

I have a 2004 T1. Air suspension I just replaced the ABS controller
VAG Number: 7L0 907 379 E Component: ESP ALLRAD MK25 0202
Soft Coding: 0014594 Shop # Imp: 000 WSC 31414
Extra Geraet 000000

Code 01044 - Control Module Incorrectly Coded
000--

Put the code in 0014594 and everything excepted.

Did steering angle sensor calibration
Checked Lateral acceleration sensor
Brake pressure sensor 1
Longitude Acceleration Sensor
All passed
Any Ideas if there is a different code for V8 Air suspension?
