Was this a standard feature on any models? I am looking for a V6.

Is TCS disabled when the rear diff locks?

I'm looking for something as capable off road as an FJ (My dads) but with some luxury added like auto climate control & heated seats. H3 and LR3 dont get good enough gas mileage, XC90 isnt off-road orientated enough, The taureg looks pretty good.

Do you guys reach the EPA 16 city 21 highway easily? I know the H3 is rated 16 City 19-20 Highway, but the guys in the H3 forum struggle to reach those numbers.
Well, RDL is available as an option on the V6 - but I don't know how readily available it is...

If "TCS" = "traction control system", the VW world has "ESP".
Switching to "low range" doesn't turn ESP completely off, rather, the system alters the various electronic "aids".

It would take a long writeup on a forum like this, but the technology behind the Touareg's offroad capability is simply amazing (and I've experience in fairly Heavy Duty systems on GMT 800 & 900).

PS - getting around 16 ~ 17 MPG in suburbs, hit 20 MPG last week on I 95!
As to off road capability, well, the list of stock vehicles that can do better than the Touareg isn't very long...
