I know, I'm the first one to tell someone not to complain, you bought a used car. You want perfect, buy new.
Turns out a new hpfp fixed the problem. Thanks for everyone's help.

POPs can you please give more details, about the HPFP. I have the same issue.

I do own a '08 T2 V8
I ran VCDS and got codes, P2294(fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276) and P129B
(fuel Pressure Regulator Valve; Bank 2 (N276) with EPC light.

after a few months of doing research reading all of your great input it seems like the (N276) sits inside the HPFP. I Believe there is 2 one on each bank ?

Pops give more info please.

All other mechanics please chip in or guys that have dealt with this issue I really appreciate it, I promise to give back feed back, Club Touareg really saved me a few thousands on this car from dealers!
thanks again.

Hey, Mates

My Treg 2008 V8 4.2 has triggeredthe EPC light on dashboard.
After researches and tests I replaced the 2 filters (and flange, with module) at the dealer. Still not working, though.
Now I'll replace the 2 fuel pumps, and the safety valve (part number 06D 130 757 C).
The big issue is that, even though The diagram (on Etka) shows only 1 valve (see attached / #26), while there are 1 installed on each distributor tube, total of 2 valves. And ww do not know if they are the same part number.

Any help, please?

Replace BOTH HPFP….. Thats all i had to do.

There is a good deal for less then $550 for both HPFP.

That valve on 26 wont give in that easy., HPFP

Dont be cheap like me replacing the sensor on old HPFP they will break when u screw them back in.

Dont stress about the sensor on fuel rail.

I wish someone gave me this advice, lol i did the flanges and everything else in tank and was not needed.

But now i have everything replaced new in gas tank.

Check PCF Euro they had the HPFP dual get the Hitachi OEM, I have 20k miles on mine and no problem so far.

If the spring that pushes on the cam follower is worked out or sensor on the HPFP is faulty it will give you “low fuel pressure “

Good Luck,

I will replace the HPFP for Hitachi, definitelly. Regarding the #26 valve, do you know if there are 2 with the same part number? On diagram there is only 1 but on the distribution tubes there are 2...
I did not had to change the fuel pressure sensor #26, after replacing HPFP EPC light gone.

The HPFP supplies the #26 with fuel, so with a faulty HPFP u will have fuel pressure issues

That is right, Franco. Guess I'll let the guys know that. By the way, are those #26 sensors (actually safety valves) exactly The same part number?
This is the part that shows up like a safety valve, very similar to the #26 part. I wonder if it is also replaceable.
Replace HPFP then go after no.26, I have not seen people replace safety valve, or fuel pressure sensor #20.

check link below for part number choose your country and engine, those sensors not expensive just labour to get to them.

Yes, I've decide to do so. Tomorrow I'll order both HPFP.
I'll let you know the result.

Thanks
The message after scanning is in Portuguese language. Basically it just says low pressure.
I've purchased the 2 new pumps, ans will update here.
