So many are looking for information on the wiring for the trailer so I thought I would post it here.
By the way I checked here that the brake signal that goes to the four pin plug on the drivers side front under the panel comes from the trailer module to that plug and NOWHERE else so to me the relay is completely unnecessary for operation as this line is not pulsed to check the trailer brake lights.
Please note the fuse locations are called out as are the pin numbers for the 4 pin plug in front for the brake controller.
Good luck with figuring out the VW wiring charts the first time, but I can't short circuit (HaHa) the pain in tracing it out.
