Dear Fellow Touaregers,

My previous post Battery Replacement Help, was helpful.

My car was just delivered, and the key was in the ignition as expected and it is completely dead, no electrical power to anything. The key is in the ignition and doesn't come out. I tried to put it in park and get the key out and now the transmission is locked in park.

My questions, is there a way to disengage the transmission, so I can roll my car?

Is there anyway to get the key out while completely dead?

Thanks in advance for your help.

See that little pinhole next to where you insert the key? Poke that to release, or charge the battery up

While attempting to jump start it, I was able to get it back in neutral.

My next dilemma is how to get the rear lid open, when there is no power?

Is there a manual release for the rear lid, so I can get to the battery?

thanks in advance for your help!

You can charge via the under hood posts on the left side of the engine bay. But if you are going to replace the batteries then read the post on changing both. You should be able to access the one under the seat to see condition and age and once that one is changed or chargered then release the rear hatch.
