Basically changed the thermostat and water pump on the 3.0v6 tdi Touareg and couldn’t get the air out of the system so took it to a friend and he burped the system and it just wouldn’t stop making air bubbles. Changed the water tank cap and had it pressure tested which was fine but it pressurised the water pipes when left running. It takes ages to get to temp but it doesn’t over heat im at a total loss at the moment on what to do next ive not long owned it any advice appreciate please tia 🙏

What do you mean by it "pressurised the water pipes when left running" The coolant system runs under pressure normally and TDI's can take a signficant time to come up to normal operating temperature especially in cold weather. Wtach the level in the coolant header tank and top up if needed. Also watch for any coolant leaks around the areas the work was done in.

There are two ways a cooling system gets pressurized - thermal expansion of the coolant as it gets hot (or steam due to air bubbles) or combustion pressure entering the cooling system.
