As all I know,V8 Touareg use 18,19 or 20 inch wheels as a standard. Can it fit for a 17 inch wheel? I want to use 17 inch AT tires because they are easier to find than other 18 or 19 tires. Can anyone give me an answer about it? Thanks!

Don't hold me to it, but I'm 99% sure only the V10 Touareg doesn't support 17 inch rims due to the larger brakes. You should be fine with the 17s :)

V10 is the only one that can't use 17" wheels, the rest are fine with it.

A 2006 V8 can use 17 inch wheels with a 5x130 pcd.

17" rims do fit on every Touareg except V10/R50 - BUT - some aftermarket rims may foul the caliper as it depends on the casting shape - AND - the stick-on balance weights may foul the caliper - AND - if you get a piece of gravel in there it could score the rims.

But for all that, I used 17" VW Tangis rims for my winter tyres and am very pleased with them - with 65 profile tyres they look more sensible than 50 profile on 19" which are my summer tyres.

Ask your question on www.mytreg.com too.

This site is US-centric and the US never got the Generation 2 V8 Tdi.

I would also post again in the Australian section of this site as the boys and girls down under did get the Gen 2 V8 Tdi.

Be careful that you get 5x130 PCD wheels and not the 5x120 PCDs that were fitted to the 2.5 Tdi Touareg to keep costs down on that model which was sold in Europe (but not the US).
