My name is John.
Work as a firefighter, used to work as an Audi technician.
bought an old heap of ****e T1 v8. And started fixing her up.
so far done,
Starter/head removal valve replacement/
timingbelt++/ air suspension compressor/ leak interior(water)/ blower motor/ tires/ brakes/ fuel pumps/
both front control arms.

To say the least i am happy I can fix everything myself on this car. Or i would be selling my bodyparts to pay
It's up and running and enjoy the old hog.
Nice forum you got here, and good DIY listings.
Stay strong, and remeber it is Herbies big brother so needs lots of love and attention.
Best John

Lots and lots of good potential future fun still in that touareg...

And you won't have to go broke fixing her... a double win.

Looks like you have factory fitted xenons. The bulbs age and the internal wiring insulation can fall off and short!

At this age it could probably do with new, genuine Philips or Osram bulbs. Beware fleabay imitations.

Yup know the drill
the lights are of a2005 mod. Wires top notch. And one LCM cut out the other day, leveling still works. Wil be putting. Led bulbs in. Much cheaper. Old car not worth hassle or money to keep originals going unless their dirt cheap. It's just a car.
nice car but still, bolts, nuts, metall and glass

Might be an old car, but it looks clean enough. Will be great to hear how you project progresses.

Kind regards

It is good now. And yup it looks good. Previous owner painted the whole car, stone chips. Lots of gravel roads here in iceland.
It is a fine car to use here, we have alot of pleaces to go offroad and highlands.
The car was Not good when i bought it. But lot of the faults where ghost faults as i call them. And due to low voltage, bad battery.
There is one manual transmission touareg here also lovley to drive.
