If you really want to find the Tregs limits on rocky/steep trails - suggest a daiper and canvas seat covers a must. Skytrek at Willow Springs in the Flinders Ranges (SA) showed us (2 x T2's and a T3) just how capable a Treg in the right hands can be. 85klm took 10 hours.
Probably some piks/vid on the 2014 Muster thread.

Agree Dub, having done such tracks i can relate to the experience. Your heart will almost pop out and hands sweat but the Touareg keeps going!

And the look on others with modified toyotas or Nissans is priceless
