Hello,

I konow this discussion is an old one, but it has my issue. I have to replace the Bitron (interor blower resistor) on a 2008 VW Touareg, as the blower is continually blowing even when turned off. I've read all the posts on the old post from 2 years ago, and it seems my issue might be the Blower Resistor. I can see it... blue, screwed in right up behind the glove box.

My question...... how have you all removed it? Looks like I have to take the glove box out, which entails unscrewing the centre console as well, pulling the radio, just to get to the single screw on the left hand side?

Surely there's an easier way? I can see a marked panel at the back of the glove box that if I cat through I can get to the resistor.

Regards

Adrian

If I recall reading in a thread on here a while ago there is a serrated section on the back of the glove box that you can see with a flashlight. This section can either be fully cut out, which then you need to buy a VW blank to fill in the spot, or you can partially cut out that spot and lift it out of your way to get at the resistor. Just gotta be careful not to cut too deep with your blade so you don't cut any wires behind the glove box.
I just can't find the thread again.

Just after I posted I think I found the thread.
See post #14 and on for where the cutout is and what it might look like.
