Greetings everyone and Happy Thanksgiving week from Denver Colorado,

I have a 2005 V8 Egg with 110 k miles. Got a check engine light and the result from the mechanic scanners was:

Heated O2 Sensor B1S1 and B1S2

Therefore I have a few questions for you:

1. Is there a way to troubleshoot this in case there is a simple fault, loose connection etc?
2. If I need to replace the O2 sensors what type of work does this entails?
Can I do that in my garage?
3. If this requires special tools, does anyone recommend a good VW mechanic in the Denver Metro Area for this work?

Thank you and have a fantastic celebration.

You need to know what the exact error code is. There are quite a few.
In my case it was the following error;
18630 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B2 S1
P2198 - 000 - Signal too High (Rich) - Intermittent

I swopped both O2 sensors on the V10 and in the end it turned out to be a vacuum leak causing the EGR valve on the one bank to behave erratically.

Don't make the same mistake I did by just swopping the O2 sensors unless you are 100% sure they are the culprits.
