It's a feature called coming home lights. After you lock the car, the lights stay on to light the path as you walk away from your car. The amount of time they stay on is determined by a setting in your center MFD display. I believe the time limits are 10 sec, 30 sec, 1 min.
Are you sure they never turn off, or have you just not waited long enough to verify that they actually will turn off?
