Hi

I am new here and posted two questions on Touareg V6 FSi and TDi. These cars are seemingly very capable and I only drove a 2005 R5 with air suspension back then. It did impress as it ironed out potholes and corrugations that sent my Isuzu KB250 (Holden in Oz?) sideways at even low speeds. The R5 went over the uneven dirt road, with a hard clay base and loose gravel atop, as if it was riding on smooth tarmac.

Now my son is toying with the idea to get one, or an Amarok 4x4 with automatic transmission. So the researching is starting right here. :writers_block:

As a fellow south african with an R5 i would recommend getting a new treg or the amarok.

Just depends on your needs. Second hand can be very risky!

The auto Amarok is excellent but it is still a pick-up so you are comparing two very different vehicles.
