Great to be here!
I have been an active reader of this forum for a few months and I now want to contribute as well as directly benefit from members' contributions.
I got the 2006 3.2L V6 in February 2012 off a fella that imported it used from the US so I guess I am the 3rd owner (hopefully):confused2:

I have owned and driven other cars mostly Hondas and nothing quite compares to the Treg.

Touaregs have a dodgy reputation here in Nigeria as being unreliable and "too electric" but I went ahead and bought one and I haven't regretted it since.........ok, apart from the ahem...thirsty nature:mad:

Good to be here once again

Welcome, brave man! Wish you luck servicing the beast in your conditions.
Thanks. Brave is really the word! But I'm still VERY chicken compared to the Panamera, Phanthom, Ferrari owners down here. LOL! As a matter of fact, I was at an event last Sunday and there were 3 RR Phanthoms in the car park!!! (Will post a picture I took)

Thanks Lenny. Sadly, I'm neither a Prince nor a General's son:p, so very unlikely to venture into the money doubling business. Yes I took a chance by indicating where I was posting from but what the heck, It is what it is!

I would definitely need all the support I can get in keeping her on the road from the experts

I have a customer from Nigeria that also has a Touareg. He buys all his parts here in the USA and I provide the shipping for him.
From him I know that parts for the touareg are hard to come by and very expensive too.
He kind of regrets he has one there. Trying to find a qualified mechanic is though too.

Yes parts are hard to come buy and ultra expensive. The few parts that I have changed like the ECM for the transmission and brake pedal switch came via a buddy in the UK. There's a local VW Stealership who will charge you circa $1,600 just to register your car (as it wasnt purchased from them) and then proceed to present you with heart-stopping maintenance bills. There are however quite a few independent garages that could be of help sometimes.
But the best option is to seek enlightenment on a forum such as this, source parts and fix it DIY-style.

Hello evrybody. trust you are all good. someone recommended me to join this group when my head was scraped by evilchanics.
presently my AC is not working. It started with intermittent cooling, on and off switching to allow it to kick in. then i was told to change the compressor and condenser, yet I keep having the same problem. now am told to change both all over again.
Please someone help. I can be reached on 07012316640
